Engine Warning Light
A technician reports on a 2015 Toyota Verso 1.6 diesel vehicle, in which the engine warning light illuminated during driving, and error codes P0101 and P115D were displayed. Contact spray was applied to the mass air flow sensor contacts, and the issue was resolved for a period. However, the vehicle has now returned to the workshop with the same fault. Before replacing the MAF sensor, the technician would like to know if the cause of the fault could be elsewhere.
1. Yes, based on the described issues, the fault is likely due to poor manufacturing of the upper part of the air filter housing. This fault affects Verso/Sportsvan models with engine code 1WW.
2. Remove the upper part of the air filter housing and then check the fit of the air intake filter (Figure 1). If the air intake flap is loose or missing, replace the upper part of the air filter housing. Clear the fault codes and perform a road test.
