The effect on small parts distributors and major car manufacturers is expected to be far-reaching, with a wide range of factors contributing to this transformation. What does this mean for the broader automotive industry?  <\/strong><\/p><p><strong>Significant Changes in 2023:<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>In February 2023, the European Parliament approved new legislation banning the sale of petrol and diesel cars from 2035, sending shockwaves through the industry. The ban also accelerates the European Union&#8217;s commitment to combat climate change, promoting a rapid transition to electric vehicles. This transition is inevitable despite stricter emission standards already implemented in recent years. Incentives are influencing consumers to more readily accept electric vehicles and focusing the industry itself on sustainability.   <\/li><li>Among the countries most affected by this transition is Germany, considered the highest earner from fossil fuel vehicles. However, it has secured an agreement with the European Commission to produce climate-neutral e-fuel vehicles that will remain available for sale beyond the 2035 deadline. The European Union has committed to significantly reducing transport emissions by 2050, becoming a strong advocate for electric vehicles.  <\/li><li>Last March, an alliance led by Germany and France raised tensions in Brussels by challenging EU legislation demanding changes. Other countries joined this alliance and called for softening the new legislation.
