Seat Leon, 2013

Noise in the front of the vehicle

Problem description

Noise in the front of the vehicle
When turning, an unusual noise occurs in the 2013 Seat Leon vehicle. The noise was heard during road testing, but could not be heard in the workshop. What could be causing this noise?

Solution

1. In Leon models that do not have an active suspension system, the described noise or sound often occurs. This is a result of excessive friction between the upper cover of the front shock absorber at the top and the shock absorber block.

2. Apply silicone grease to the contact surfaces of both components to dampen the impacts (as shown in the image above). Verify through road testing whether the mentioned fault has been resolved.
