Audit
An audit represents a review of an existing system or organization, typically conducted by an external partner. This independent review can be performed in numerous areas, such as examination of financial statements, operational reports, accounts, expense reports, compliance with standards, adherence to criteria, fulfillment of contractual obligations, etc.
The final result is usually presented in the form of a report, where for each criterion we can determine whether the examined entity meets the criteria or not and why.
There are many levels and different types of audits in accordance with the audit purpose, objective, scope, and implementation procedure.
