Citroen C-Elysee, 2013

Engine Overheating

Problem Description

Engine Overheating
The customer encountered an engine overheating problem with a 2013 Citroen C-Elysee 1.6 Hdi. The mechanic had difficulty finding the cause. The system was inspected. A leak was found in the radiator, but replacing the radiator did not fix the problem.

Solution

1. This is a known defect in 1.6 HDi engines with code 9HP (DV6DTED4) up to 14.3.2014 (RPO13628). The problem is found in the fan housing, which causes the radiator to leak due to the attachments on the housing.

2. Remove the attachments from the radiator housing so that only a smooth surface remains in this area (picture). Replace the radiator only if necessary.
