Problem Description

‘Smart key not found’ warning message

The problem occurs when the keyless entry and start system malfunctions. The customer is occasionally unable to lock or unlock the vehicle, and no fault codes have been stored. The remote control battery has been replaced, and a basic inspection of the wiring to the keyless entry/start system control unit shows no problems.

Solution

1. The described fault affects E-Pace models from 2017 onwards and is caused by a faulty remote control signal receiver. Therefore, check its condition and, if you do not find any damage, install a new signal receiver. Also, make sure that the signal antenna cable is routed correctly, as shown in the figure below. This should fix the error.
