Coolant leak in the intake manifold area
During a routine service inspection of a 2009 Fiat Punto Evo, a coolant leak was detected in the intake manifold area. A pressure test was performed, but the leak location was not found.
1. The fault is known. It occurs in Fiat Punto Evo vehicles with 1.6/2.0 diesel engines manufactured up to October 15, 2009. The fault is with the intake manifold gasket, which is not resistant to diesel fuel.
2. During the pressure test, pay special attention to the area shown in the image above. Replace the black intake manifold gaskets with modified green-colored gaskets. After replacement, repeat the pressure test to confirm the fault has been rectified.
