Problem Description

Front suspension squeaking
The customer of a Citroen C3 III, year 2010, reports squeaking noises coming from the front suspension, occurring during turning and parking of the vehicle. During the test drive, the team detected the fault, but it could not be replicated in the mechanical workshop. The team inspected the condition of the front joints and front suspension mounting points but could not identify the source of the fault. Have you encountered this squeaking noise?

Solution

1. The squeaking noise occurs due to friction between the upper front suspension mount and the shock absorber bumper. Remove the suspension assembly, disassemble it, and remove the spring. Apply a light coating of Total N4128 lubricant to the area shown in Figure 1(1), and also apply a thin layer of grease to the area marked in Figure 1(2). Reassemble the strut assembly and install it. Repeat the procedure on the other side of the vehicle. Perform a road test to ensure the fault has been resolved.
