Citroen DS4, 2011

Engine does not start

Problem Description

Engine does not start
The 2011 Citroën DS4 2.0 HDi vehicle has an engine starting issue. When the vehicle arrived at the workshop, the engine was running, but unevenly and with reduced power. Now it cranks but does not start. Several fault codes related to the fuel system are stored in the memory. Where should repairs begin?

Solution

1. The symptoms you describe are known for the DS4 model with engine code RHE (DW10CTED4) and are caused by a malfunction of the common rail fuel pressure sensor (FRP).

2. To rectify the fault, first perform electrical, mechanical, and component tests to rule out any other potential causes. If no other faults are found, replace the aforementioned sensor, as shown in the image. This should resolve the issue.
