Central Locking System Operation
Customer reports issues with the remote central locking system. The technician has already replaced the key battery and checked electrical connections, but the problem persists.
1. The central locking system is not functioning because the computer detects that the key is still in the ignition switch due to a blocked key sensor.
2. Disconnect the battery and remove the plastic cover from the lower and upper parts of the steering column. Disconnect the lock connector. Insert the key and turn it to the ACC position (figure 1), then simultaneously press and hold the lock pin (figure 2) and remove the lock cylinder (figure 3). Apply a thin layer of low-temperature lithium grease to the cylinder and key sensor (figure 4). This should resolve the issue.
