Coolant Leak
The service technician reports difficulties in identifying the cause of the coolant leak in a VW Golf 1.2 TSI vehicle. A coolant pressure check did not reveal the cause. After a road test, once the engine reached its normal operating temperature, visible signs of coolant leakage were observed near the air filter housing.
1. This is a known fault affecting Polo, Golf, and Jetta models with engine codes CJZA/CJZB/CJZC/CJZD. The coolant leakage is caused by a worn coolant hose on the air filter housing.
2. Install a sleeve on the new coolant hose, which is available as an original part (Figure 1.1). The protective sleeve will prevent the fault from recurring. Also ensure that the engine coolant level and antifreeze mixture are correct.
