For a 2012 Volkswagen Up! vehicle, after a routine service, the technician observed engine oil leaking into the oil pan area. The technician installed a new oil pan and ensured it was properly secured during installation, but the oil leak persisted.

Solution

1. The fault occurs in models with engine codes CHYA / CHYB, specifically due to a manufacturing defect in the oil pan. Because of this, the oil pan can be unintentionally damaged during the removal and installation of the oil drain plug.

2. Inspect the oil pan and, if necessary, repair it or replace it with a new one. This should resolve the issue.
