Whistling noise around exterior mirrors at speeds between 60-80 km/h

Problem description

Whistling noise around exterior mirrors at speeds between 60-80 km/h
In a 2011 BMW X1, a whistling noise occurs around both exterior mirrors at speeds between 60-80 km/h. The noise was confirmed during a road test, however, the service technician cannot identify the cause in the workshop.

Solution

1. This problem frequently occurs on this model and is caused by cables rubbing against the ABS hydraulic module bracket. It is necessary to inspect the ABS control cables (Figure 1) and repair or replace them if needed.

2. This should resolve the issue. To prevent recurrence, cut the required length of rubber hose and attach it to the ABS hydraulic module bracket (Figure 2). Finally, check the ABS error codes and perform any additional repairs if necessary.
