Reduced engine performance
The technician reports difficulties repairing a Jaguar XF 3.0 Diesel, model year 2010. The issue involves reduced engine performance and illuminated warning lights with error codes P006A, P00BD, P0235, P1247, and P2263, which relate to various input components and sensors, including the turbocharger, air flow sensor, and manifold pressure sensor. The technician cleared the codes, but they reappeared. Despite numerous tests, the technician cannot identify the fault.
1. The described issue is caused by the secondary turbocharger shut-off valve, specifically due to corrosion of the vacuum valve rod and connecting rod. This problem occurs in vehicles equipped with a retaining nut on the connecting rod (Figure 1).
2. An authorized Jaguar parts dealer has a repair kit available, consisting of a vacuum valve actuator and connecting rod. Before removing the old rod, mark its position to ensure the new rod is installed in the same position. DO NOT change the nut settings under any circumstances (Figure 2). Install the new rod, which does not have a nut. To confirm the issue has been resolved, clear the error codes and perform a test drive.
