Engine oil leak and clutch slipping
A Peugeot 2008 vehicle with a 1.2 gasoline engine developed an oil leak in the transmission area. The rear oil seal of the shift fork shaft was replaced, but the vehicle returned with the same problem after a few months.
1. The fault occurs in models manufactured until 10.12.2014 (RPO 13911) and is caused by poor design of the shift fork shaft, which causes oil leakage at the rear.
2. A bushing designed to eliminate this fault must be installed and is available as an original part. Remove the flywheel and clean all components. Apply Loctite 648 sealant to the location as shown in the figure. Install the bushing on the rear of the shift fork shaft. Replace the rear shaft oil seal if necessary. Also inspect the clutch and replace if necessary.
