Noise when starting off

Problem description

Noise when starting off The customer had difficulty diagnosing a rattling or noise in a 2009 Peugeot 207 vehicle. The rattling occurs when starting off. The noise is audible in the front left area of the vehicle. The mechanic checked the steering, suspension, and drivetrain, but did not find the source of the noise in the specified area of the vehicle.

Solution

1. This type of fault has also been reported by other Peugeot 207 owners. The reason for this is movement between the front wheel carrier and the hub carrier.

2. Remove the front wheel bearing from the hub. Apply a thin coat of grease to the marked area in the image. Be careful not to apply grease to the ABS sensor. Reinstall the front wheel bearing and repeat the procedure on the other side. After completing the procedure, confirm the fault has been rectified with a test drive.
