Engine Fan Malfunction
The owner of a 2015 Porsche 911 reports the following warning message: “Engine fan malfunction. Avoid full engine load. Driving permitted.” No errors were stored in the computer, and the service technician checked the cooling system seals but found no fault.
1. This is a known issue affecting Porsche 911 models manufactured before 05/20/16. The problem typically occurs due to engine cooling fan motor failure caused by moisture/corrosion.
2. Check the fan motors for visible signs of moisture/corrosion (Figure 1.1). Replace the fan motors if necessary. This should resolve the issue.
