Reduced engine performance and illuminated Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL)
The Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illuminated on a 2016 Volvo V60. It is accompanied by reduced engine performance. The following fault codes are stored in the fault memory: P00BC, P0471, P0472, and P0473. The technician visually inspected the air intake system but found no fault.
1. This is a known fault on several Volvo vehicle models from 2016-2017 with engine codes D4204T8, D4204T9, and D4204T20. The fault is caused by insufficient exhaust gas flow in the supply pipe of the exhaust gas pressure sensor.
2. Replacement of the aforementioned pipe is necessary (Figure 1.1). Clear the fault codes. Confirm the repair with a test drive.
