Engine Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) Illuminated
An issue occurred while diagnosing an electrical fault on a 2012 Mercedes A180 1.6. The engine malfunction light was illuminated, and the fault memory displayed various error codes. We checked most components indicated as faulty, but the components were functioning correctly.
1. This issue has occurred multiple times in Mercedes-Benz models with engine codes 270.910 / 270.920. The problem is caused by engine cables rubbing against the holder near the air filter housing (Figure 1).
2. Check for cable damage and repair or replace if necessary. Secure the engine connection cable with the modified holder (Figure 2). After repair, clear the stored fault codes.
