BETTER TRAFFIC SAFETY WITH MOBILEYE ME630

Mobileye ME630 is one of the product that we proudly sell and it belongs to the category of traffic safety. We can proudly say that we also have this little device in our vehicle. Mobileye has repeatedly prevented various possible scenarios of traffic accidents in our vehicle.

In our vehicle, Mobileye often alerts us to the possibility of forward collision , as we quickly move our eyes off the road or lose concentration for various reasons (phone, turning back to the child, loss of concentration, radio, etc.). For the same reasons, Mobileye often alerts us about  unintentional deviation from the driving lane.

how does it work?

On the interior side front windscreen there is a camera, containing a powerfull chip , which allows efficient real-time image processing using lane detection technology and pedestrian detection technologies, as well as effective measurements and calculations of dynamic distances between vehicles and road objects.

Based on the captured images, the chip transfers the appropriate alerts to the display unit (visual alert screen), which is usually installed on the dashboard. The display unit then with visual and audio signals, releases warnings to warn the driver of potential danger.

​The dangerous situations which Mobileye detects for the entire duration of the ride and alerts the driver with audio and visual alerts are:

• Lane Departure Warning - an unintentional deviation from the driving lanes.
• Headway Monitoring and Warning -  a safe distance from the vehicle ahead 
• Forward Collision Warning  - including Motorcycle Detection, alerts the driver of an imminent collision with a vehicle or a motorcycle that is ahead, up to 2.7 second before a collision, allowing enough time to react and avoid collision. 
• Pedestrian Collision Warning - including Bicycle Detection 
• Speed-Limit Indication - recognizes speed limit signs (including electronic signs) and supplementary signs, “reads” the speed limit on the sign, and communicates it via Mobileye’s CAN channel for Telematics and the 3rd party integrators.
• Intelligent High-Beam Control (IHC) - automatically raises and lowers the high beam without inconvenience for the oncoming or preceding traffic.​​

INSTALLATION

The installation usually takes approx. 4 hours, since it is necessary to calibrate the system and properly connect the power and data cables. However, don't worry, all the cables are hidden behind the dashboard. Here it is important to note that the mounting does not require any major interference to the interior of the vehicle, such as drilling. The plastic underneath the dashboard is easily removed and underneath of it we can  install cables for connection and power supply.

We attach the camera with a special tool to the windscreen, and the visual screen with warnings is attached to the dashboard using extremely powerful vacuum suction cups.

​In order for Mobileye to have full functionality, it can be connected to the CAN bus so Mobileye can access the following vehicle parameters:
• The brake pressure level
• Headlamps with a passing beam
• Directional indicators
• Wipers

The system is ready for use immediately after installation and testing.

We must admit that we quickly became adopted to our new assistant and, in the last two years of its use, it have often saved us from dangerous situations. Even if you think Mobileye will think instead of the driver and the driver will be then even less concentrated on the events around him, such belief is mistaken. At the beginning, the device will help you to correct your driving style by alerting you to irregularities, which will surely be later shown in the design of better driving habits.
